Scott didn’t fall far from the tree as his father, Arch, is enshrined in the Arizona Golf Hall of Fame and the Southwest Section of the PGA Hall of Fame. Following in his father’s impressive footsteps Scott has been an avid golfer for over 47 years and successfully involved in various aspects of the golf business for 34 of those years. In addition to competing on the PGA Tour for four years his expertise includes Tournament Coordinator, Facilities Management, Operations Manager, and Director of Instruction at several facilities.
Some of Scott’s major accomplishments and awards include:
- Pac 10 player of the year
- First and Second team All American at Arizona State University
- Southwest Section PGA Section Player of the Year
- Southwest Section PGA Teacher of the year
- Five-time nominee for Golf Magazines Top 100 Golf Instructors
- Ranked 9th, 12th, 11th and 7th in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2013 respectively
- Won the Southwest Section Championship four times and the Arizona Open
During a 28 year period prior to his current position at Papago Golf Course, Scott served as Director of Instruction at
ASU Karsten, Arizona Country Club, The Phoenician Resort, The Club at Black Rock, Sunridge Canyon and Camelback Golf Club.
As Director of Golf Instruction at every one of these locations Scott successfully expanded their golf instruction programs because of his talent in helping golfers of all ages and levels of play timely achieve the results they desired.
